Online course: Engineering Procurement

I've just got a royalty cheque, which reminds me that my webinar series for IChemE is still on line and available for purchase.  It is 4 hour long webinars covering both procurement and pricing - so useful for suppliers too.  Very reasonably priced at £235+VAT - but I would say that, wouldn't I?

You will be pleased to hear that while it does have my voice, the visuals are the slides rather than me standing at a flipchart.

Full details are here at IChemE.

IChemE What Engineers need to know about contracts

I am running this popular course twice next year - the first time is due to be 9/10 March in Rugby.  Full details here.

As my lawyer friends like to remind me, I am not a lawyer.  So this is not a heavy and detailed listing of case law and precedent.  Instead I try to explain how we can use contracts as a tool, with a focus on the process industries and project management.

If you are interested, please book directly with IChemE.

Public Procurement

We might now start to get some clarity on the future direction of Public Procurement in the UK.  A shakeup is promised - how much is delivered we shall see.  I hope to be able to share it with you.

I have now finished my run on the CIPS Public Procurement open skills courses.  They are changing the format and will be running 5 or 6 one day training programmes next year in a variety of locations.  I don't know who will be running them but I am sure they will do a good job.

I have really enjoyed running the 3 public procurement days, and so I shall be looking to continue running them in 2020 on a commercial basis with another partner.  Details are being developed, but probably a one day event (or two one day events) in up to 3 locations.

If you have any preferences, or suggestions about how and where we should run these courses, please let me know.

In the meantime, Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year
